Disney-Junior-A-Poem-Is

So, in class today, we were presenting some poems about WWI. Now, you’re probably thinking, what does poems about the war have to do with Disney. Well, in my opinion, I think that Disney lyrics are like poems in their own way. They may not rhyme, like Doctor Seuss, but not all poems have to rhyme, for those of you who don’t know the “rules” to writing a poem.

Some examples of some poetic lyrics that I like are:

“But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you’ll learn things you never knew you never knew.”~Pocahontas

“No matter how your heart is grieving, If you keep on believing, The dream that you wish will come true”~ Cinderella

“Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!”~Mary Poppins

“Think of the happiest things, It’s the same as having wings.”~Peter Pan

Now, the Mary Poppins line may not seem like a poem to you. In fact, I don’t think it actually is, but I just think it’s just such a fun line that it should be considered a poem! Maybe now, if you’re listening to some Disney songs, you’ll try to find a line or two that sounds like a poem!
